Sunshine Coast Tourist Attractions

The theme park scene on the Sunshine Coast is a little more low key than that of the Gold Coast. Not that its less fun, if you're up for culture and more educational and interesting type parks then the Sunshine Coast is perfect. No big rides here...but the assortment of parks is enough to keep you entertained for quite some time. With unique establishments such as the Bli Bli Castle, Aussie World and Underworld, the parks on the Sunshine Coast offer a more unique perspective on things.

Australia Zoo

Crikey! For a full day of wildlife action and adventure, visit the Crocodile Hunter’s Australia Zoo.  Set on over 70 acres and home to over 1000 animals, there are always plenty of exciting wildlife shows to see and heaps of drop-dead gorgeous animals that can’t wait to get up close and personal with YOU! If you’ve ever wanted to hand-feed an Asian Elephant, cuddle a koala, walk alongside a Sumatran Tiger, waddle with a wombat, wrap a snake around your shoulders or watch a massive Saltwater Crocodile launch a strike from the water’s edge, then Australia Zoo is your ultimate destination.

The Ginger Factory, pioneer road, Yandina.
The Ginger Factory is a multi award winning amusement establishment. Here you get an education on the cooking and use of ginger. You can also by specially made ginger-based foods and even take a ride on an historic train.

The Sunshine Plantation " The Big Pineapple", Woombye.
The big pineapple is one of Queenslands best pineapple plantations. It is open every day from 9am to 5pm with some restrictions on public holidays. You can receive an interesting education into pineapples and the processes around their harvesting.

Aussie World   "Ettamogah Pub" & Tourist Park, Bruce Highway between caloundra and Maroochydore.
Aussie World is a free tourist park that has some very Aussie based attractions, shopping and dining facilities and a showcasing of some local arts and crafts. There is also the Ettamogah Pub which is based on a comic book cartoon and is very humerous with lots of little abstract features that make it well worth the look.

"The Deer Sanctuary",  Forest Glen
The Forest Glen Deer Sanctuary offers you the opportunity to hand feed hundreds of free-roaming deer and Australian native animals. You can drive through their natural bushland and rainforest habitat. Interact with other Australian native animals through their wildlife shows.

"Super Bee",  Forest Glen
The Forest Glen Super Bee is a place that many bee and honey related activities and exhibitions. There is the Beekeeping Show that demonstrates Bee handling and honey extraction. There is also the free honey tastings with Australia's largest range of pure honey flavours.

If your looking to purchase some unique Honey-related merchandise such as health products, honeycomb, honey drinks, beeswax and, of course, honey.

The park is set on 7 acres that includes rainforest walks, lagoons and beautifully landscaped gardens. You can visit the Three Bears Cottage, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, The House tha Jack Built and enjoy merry go-round rides, mini-golf and ride in electric cars. There is even a family restaurant for lunches and snacks.

Underwater World Mooloolaba, Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba.
UnderWater World opens many doors to the worlds of wonder beyond our own. Plunge into a unique world where youll see sharks, whales, crocodiles and stingrays as you would in the wild. With a range of underwater habitats and an 80m underwater glass tunnel youll be able to see all forms of sea life. There are beautifully coloured coral, eels, giang barramundi, seals and turtles. Experience these creatures as you should through seeing how they interact in their own Underwater World.

Surf  & Scurf  Bli Bli Water Ski adventure resort
The Bli Bli Water Ski adventure resort offers a great assortment of water based sports. It's located the opposite side of the Maroochy River from Bli Bli Castle.

The Big Kart Go Kart Track, Landsborough
The Big Kart Go Kart Track lets you experience the most exciting rides in the World!! "The Big Kart Track" and "The Bungy Bullet" both are situated at the one location. You can either race your friends on Australia's fastest Go-Kart track or experience the G Forces of being shot 50 metres into the air in just over a second..
 
The track is 1200 metres long which makes it the largest & fastest Go -Kart track in Australia.  You can test your skills and challenge your friends to a race, we have 50 Go -Karts so large groups are no problem , you'll need to pre-book if you are after a group concession.

The Sunshine Castle at Bli Bli , Maroochy River
The Sunshine Castle at Bli Bli Castle features a large display of medieval armour, as well as a dungeon and torture chamber. But dont be afraid of this there are plenty of activities for the children. There are 350 dancing dolls dressed in national costums that represent 57 countries around the world and a doll museum that has over 2200 dolls.  From the Towers, Battlements and specifically the Great Tower (24m) one can enjoy the panoramic views along the Coast, over Bli Bli, the Maroochy River and the surrounding cane fields. There are also many other attractions...
