Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
The Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve is located on (the very aply named, as it overlooks the Glass House Mountains) Mountain View Road near the Hinterland township of Maleny. It's comprised of 55 hectares of National Estate listed subtropical rainforest. This type of rainforest once covered the Blackall Range but is now limited to protected areas such as this, so the park almost acts as a museum! There is a cafe, walking tracks, educational displays and picnic areas so it's a fantastic place to visit for a few hours and learn something new in the process.
