Surfing at Moffat Beach
Moffat Beach is located in Caloundra on the northern side of the headland and is unpatrolled by life guards, however Dickey Beach Surf Life Saving Club (located just to the north) does send regular patrols down in peak holiday periods to keep an eye on things. For this reason, it's not recommended for swimmers, however when conditions are right the surfing can be very good. Being a north facing beach, it does get some protection from south-easterly winds and when there's a strong southeast swell, the waves are long right-handers, making the break popular with the long-board riders.
